IoT Solutions

The internet of things offers substantial opportunities for connected enterprise in product development and manufacturing processes.

Internet of Things (IoT)

IoT allows objects from small embedded electronics, software and sensors all the way to vehicles and buildings to be monitored and controlled remotely via the internet from almost any device, anytime, anywhere in the world.

This interconnectivity of ‘things’ and access to ever increasing volumes of data together with proliferating computing power, including machine learning, offers substantial opportunities for connected enterprise in product development and manufacturing processes.

Industrial IoT

Industrial IoT (IIoT) means managers, engineers and developers can access data and supporting applications to check on specific systems, schedules, data, etc. at any time, in full detail.  This ability to remotely and rapidly analyse performance and results as well as remotely control or reconfigure capabilities is dramatically reducing development cycles and time to market. At the same time it is delivering new insights and driving further innovation.

Supporting your project

We not only understand the wider context of IoT applications but have practical experience of integrating IoT projects that offer greater control, analysis and data access whether you are in the next room or the other side of the world.

We are able to build and deploy the right solution for your requirement by deliberately applying a strategy of employing talented engineers with a wide range complementary expertise:

  • LabView
  • Veristand
  • TestStand
  • Matlab
  • JavaScript
  • Python
  • iOS
  • Machine learning
  • Big data analytics

We follow technology agnostic system engineering principles to deliver sophisticated IoT enabled supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems including data integration and sharing, across devices and third-party systems. We tailor our support to meet your project requirement:

  • Consultancy
  • End-to-end design and build
  • Ad hoc support
  • Hardware or software development
  • Coding workshops
  • Machine learning algorithms
  • Signal processing

  • Big data analysis and management.

Case Study: Green Running

Our engineers worked in partnership with our sister company Green Running to develop the Verv, a real-time IoT energy monitoring device that provides households with an instant breakdown of their energy use. Sophisticated machine learning algorithms identify the unique power signatures of each household device as they are switched on and off and this information is displayed to the user through our front-end mobile application.

With Verv consumers are smarter and less wasteful with the way they use electricity at home and able to make fact-based decisions about replacing old and inefficient devices. Verv uses a low-power embedded ARM processor and continually streams user data to a robust cloud database. Information about each appliance, real-time usage and historical reports are accessible from a smartphone or tablet app.

Many more additional IoT connected systems will be built on top of the foundations of this system.
